Her father, Russetstar, disapproved of this desire, and told her she was only getting in the medicine cat's way.
When she reached the age of 6 moons, she was, of course, apprenticed to Russetstar, who trained her mercilessly.
Since Darkpaw had been told she couldn't be a medicine cat, she was determined to become the best warrior she could be.
